On the Plane

Hey Everyone,

I'm sitting on a Virgin America airplane right now. We're in flight! Yes, and I have net!

I've never done this from the airplane...I guess I've joined the mile high club.

Anyway, I'm on my way home from NYC. It was a good trip and nice to take a breath from the album....however, I listened to it a whole bunch while walking around. When I was writing the first album in NYC, I would walk around NYC listening to music on my walkman CD player. I would write songs, bounce them, and then make a mix. It was exciting to have new music, new creations to take on my stroll. It was like being in a music video. It was cool to do that with the new album.

Hope everyone is good and wants some new tunes!

Update From Ned - May 15, 2009

"hey everybody. we finished recording our new record as of last night! we're very excited and currently shopping around for the perfect mixer. more on that to come. in the meantime, conan o'brien called and asked us to perform on the test episode for the new and improved "tonight show." of course we said "hell yes" and we will be shooting that on may 27th. it's not actually going to the air but we will be able to use the footage for the web so check back sometime early in june. have a great weekend."

Update From Robert

"Hey y'all. It's Robert here. It's 1230 AM in Los Angeles. Everything in the studio is going well. I go through all the songs at the end of the days and make my own record sequence. It's cool to listen to how each song flows into the next and to hear them all together as one album. I couldn't be more happy with how it's all sounding. We want to release new music this year, it's been our goal. Leaving the label was a huge relief, it took time, but we're finally, officially, free! We've never really told everyone how bad it was at times being apart of that label because, at the time, we were still working with them. But now that we're off, it's time to get dirty!!! It's a whole new world out there and we're just getting to know it. We'd like to organize some sort of live chat with fans...still figuring out how we're gonna do it. Any ideas? Since we're now label-less, send us any ideas for releasing the next album. And remember, there are no rules these days. Love to all, Robert"

Rooney Leaves Geffen Records

"Hi everybody. We are pleased and excited to announce our split with Geffen records after seven years together. What does it mean for us? Happiness, renewed energy, relief. What does this mean for you? Most likely it will mean a much more prolific band as we no longer need to work at the snail pace of a major...anyone remember our 2 year mysterious disappearing act? Well hopefully, that won't be an issue ever again. We built our own studios and have recorded 14 songs thus far. We believe it is our most exciting music to date. As soon as we finish it up, we'll be back out on the road with this 3rd installation hot off the presses. Miss you all and can't wait to return.
