October 25th, 2003 Tower Theatre Philadelphia, PA Hey everyone..just thought I'd share my experience of the Rooney show. I'll tell you every detail..from when I walked into the place and when I left..here it goes =] Ok, I was so scared that we wouldn't make it on time to the Tower because my dad drove me and my mom and we had so much trouble getting there. So we go to the people to give them our tickets and they ask to look at our bags. I opened my bag and luckily they didn't see my camera because I hid it in one of those 'secret departments'. Then they search my mom's bag and the guy gave her a hard time because they thought her glasses case was a freakin' camera. He was like, 'a glasses case that big, huh?'..something like that. My mom was like 'wtf, these are my glasses, why don't you check?' hahaha. When we first got there, I started to panic because I seen the tourbuses--actually it got to the point that I started to cry. I was really excited. We got there just in time. I bought a Rooney shirt, then we rushed to our seats. God people there are extremely aware of where people sit. I was going to sneak up in front, but some girl that worked there asked 'Are you okay?' and I was like 'Uh..I'm looking for someone' haha. The one lady that worked there started to tick me off. She was watching me like a freakin' hawk. My mom kept telling me to try and try to sneak up there. The first band The Queue were GREAT. They opened for both Rooney and Travis. I loved them, they had a great sound to their music, and I enjoyed it very much. After their show, I was waiting for Rooney to come on. While I was, I noticed the lead singer of The Queue talking to people and I pulled him aside and told him that his performance was really great. I kept seeing him and he kept waving to me..haha he was awesome. OMG THEN ROONEY CAME ON AND I WAS THE LOUDEST ONE THERE! I screamed every word to every song, and I screamed and screamed and I was just so happy. I named each guitar the people set up..I was like 'TAYLOR'S GUITAR! MATT'S BASS! ROBERT'S GUITAR! NED'S DRUMSET! LOUIEEEEEE!' And when they first came on, I started to cry again. I was too excited. I was dancing, singing, screaming things, you name it and I probably did it. The majority of the place didn't know who they were, except for like 5-8 girls [including me]. I wrote the setlist down too. Every song they did was pure AMAZING. I was estactic when Louie was in action with that tambourine..I was like 'Louie you rock!!' real loud. The order of the songs [I brung a notebook and wrote the setlist]: 1. Simply Because: They started out with a lovely performance of Simply Because..'oh you've lost my love oh yeah' :] I love that! Louie did a great job as usual on keys'tambourine. 2. I'm a Terrible Person: [it was so awesome because right when they were playing Simply Because, they went right into I'm a Terrible Person..they went into the part sung like 'It's gonna be a bad day come Sunday/someday..'] 3. Stay Away: When this came on, I was so happy when they sang my favorite part..'Make a move on me baby, I can't be the one whose always taking chances. See me down so you get down, no you've got me all wrong I just want to kiss your lips..and you kiss back' AHHH! :) 4. Blueside: AHH BLUESIDE! ;P Very excited when this came on [I was excited with every song lol I was panicking]!! 5. Losing All Control: Before they performed this, Robert was like 'the only slow song on our album'..and when it first started I said 'LOSING ALL CONTROL!!!' really loud..I LOVE ROONEY! lol. 6. Sorry Sorry: Ahh! Sorry Sorry is such a fun song! Robert and Taylor kept going back and forth saying 'I'm Sorry Sorry for making your life a living hell..Sorry, sorry, sorry sorry..' 7. Popstars: Very very lovely. ;) The beginning was cool and I enjoyed it a lot :) An Awesome song 8. Daisy Duke: WHAT COULD THE CONCERT BE WITHOUT DAISY DUKE?? lol. LOUIE ON THOSE KEYS! hahahaha. I love you Louie Stephens. :* They performed it great, like all of their other songs =] 9. Shakin': SHA SHA SHAKIN'! AHH! This song was great. I looooove this song! It was so awesome live and it made me loooooove the song even more. AHH I LOVE YOU ROONEY! God I screamed for every song. I was like 'LOUIE YOU RULE..STAY AFTER THE SHOW!..ROBERT YOU'RE AWESOME! TAYLOR!' When Robert was talking to the audience before some songs, I screamed things so loud. Especially to Louie..I seen Louie and I was like OMFG..God I'm in love with him and the whole band too. Matt's hair is getting a little longer lol..and NED'S HAIR..lol every time I see it, it's getting longer and longer by the minute. Louie's hair is getting long too but it's lovely. Robert's hair was perfection hehe ;] Taylor's hair was just great :) I was just really really crazy..these people were looking at me while I was singing/screaming/dancing but I really didn't care. After Rooney's performance, I met The Queue. OMG they are great guys, each one of them are so nice. The lead singer got all the band members to get pictures with me and to get my Queue poster signed. I talked with them for awhile. Then I noticed these two oriental girls next to me who were Rooney fans. I talked with them for awhile too. I explained that I was so determined to meet Rooney, and that I brought everything possible to get signed--I brought my CD booklet, 3 sharpies, a letter I wrote, my journal, and this Rooney sign I made some person give to me at Tower Records. They were waiting near the part where Rooney could possibly come by while leaving [where I was]. Then my mom, being the person she is, went over to one of the band members of the Queue. She asked if it was possible that he would talk to Rooney so I could meet them. I don't know what he said, but I think he knew that I was a HUGE Rooney fan. While I was waiting with those girls, the guy from the Queue [his name is Bach] came up to me and said 'Hey, are you going to be here for awhile?' And I was like 'Yeah I am' and he was like 'I have something for you'. So me and my mom were waiting, and he came back with Ned's drumstick! I was like 'OMG THANK YOU!' I kept asking if he could please get me to meet atleast Louie, because I wrote him something and everything. He said he'd try. Before he did, my mom convinced him to get my drumstick signed by Louie. So it took him awhile and he finally came back. He got my drumstick signed by LOUIE! I was begging and begging to meet them. Then again I started to cry. I was waiting so long for this and it finally came. He told me that Louie was on his cell phone. I was trying sooooo hard to meet them. The guy from The Queue did almost everything possible to help me meet them and I was so grateful. I mean it just wasn't fair. I knew too many people who met and talked to them, and I was just sick of it. I'm as much as a HUGE fan as the people I know online. And I was probably the biggest fan there at the Tower. I was mad at Rooney for that! They should've had a signing or something..the majority of the place did not know who Rooney was except for 5-7 girls including me. Later I found out that they went to a bar near the Art Museum. Some people told me they would come back, and some told me they weren't. I know this is getting annoying, but I cried again. I got this far and I didn't want to quit. I really don't think anyone I know knew how much I wanted to meet them. To calm down, I went to watch the Travis show. They were really good, and I liked them a lot. Anyway getting back to Rooney. God at that point, I'd do ANYTHING to meet them. And you know what? I don't know any other Rooney fan going through what I went through to meet them. I did everything possible. Any options that were availible, I shot for it. I don't know anyone else's mom that went far to try and get her daughter to meet a band that means so much. Even another freakin' band was helping me meet them. The girls I was talking to before were going to maybe go to that bar where Rooney was. They asked if I could go, and we were about to, but my mom said that I probably wouldn't get in. We went in to watch more Travis until it was over. Then I thought to myself 'God, this is it isn't? I try so hard to meet them and it just doesn't happen?' So yeah and I ended up getting upset again. I am mighty grateful for everything The Queue did to help me meet them. I mean come on--they got me a freakin' drumstick! NED'S DRUMSTICK! SIGNED BY LOUIE!' The show was AMAZING. Rooney did such a great job and I'm glad I had a good time. See, I still end up getting upset that I didn't meet them because God knows when they are coming here again!! |
